Beacon High
Message from the Headteacher - Beacon High
I am the Headteacher at Beacon High School.
I qualified as a teacher with a PGCE from Cambridge University in July 1992, and a degree in English Literature. Subsequently, I completed my MA in Film Studies in 2000 and the NPQH in 2004.
Throughout my career I have taught in London as an English and Media Studies teacher, in Enfield, Tower Hamlets and Hammersmith. Whilst in Enfield I was a Head of Year for 5 years.
I became a secondary school Leader in 2001 when I moved to work in Tower Hamlets, firstly as an Assistant Headteacher and then as a Deputy Headteacher. I moved to Hammersmith in 2012 initially as Head of School in a Federation and then as Headteacher in 2013.
I came to Islington in 2018 as Interim Headteacher at Holloway School.
I am pleased to be part of Islington Futures Federation and pleased to be working collaboratively with all stakeholders. I want to ensure our learners across the Federation, and particularly at the new Beacon High, are entitled to the best opportunities and outcomes in preparation for their futures.
